湖人籃球營運部總裁 Magic Johnson 又被聯盟罰款了，這次金額不像之前的金額那麼跨張，這次是 5 萬美金（對一般人來說還是很多…），老實說，這次的罰款筆者不認為理由很充分…
2017-18 賽季開始前，前溜馬核心 Paul George 的「回家」言論引起聯盟的軒然大波，出生在加州棕櫚谷的他，對洛杉磯有一份特殊的情感，期望自己有朝一日能為家鄉球隊效力。
據遭揭露出的消息，Paul George 在合約還剩一年的情況下請經紀人 Aaron Mintz 提前告知球隊他賽季後會選擇不續約的決定，某種程度來說，他不想步上 LeBron James 與 Kevin Durant 的後塵；無奈消息被曝光，溜馬僅能被動地在有限的選擇下進行交易（必須交易，否則球隊甚麼建隊資產或優質戰力都沒得到），以本賽季截至目前的結果來看，溜馬的籃球營運部總裁 Kevin Pritchard 做出了絕佳的交易，得到了未來幾年的建隊核心 Victor Oladipo。
行文至此，到底與 Magic Johnson 有何干係？Paul George 的「回家」是導火線，溜馬提出申訴，要求聯盟進行調查，偏偏 Magic Johnson 曾在之前上 Jimmy Kimmel 脫口秀的節目中有意無意地對 Paul George 伸出橄欖枝：

聯盟調查後發現，雖然湖人與 Paul George 沒有任何私下協議，但湖人總經理 Rob Pelinka 曾聯繫過 Paul George 的經紀人…
這證據力有點薄弱。
Aaron Mintz，Paul George 的經紀人，但他同時也是湖人 Julius Randle 與前湖人現籃網 D'Angelo Russell 的經紀人，僅能怪 Rob Pelinka 不懂得避嫌，有瓜田李下的際視感；最終一個節目上的眨眼，和一則不知內容的通話紀錄，聯盟開出 50 萬美金的巨額罰款（僅次於 2000 年灰狼違規招募 Joe Smith 的事件），湖人最後還是選擇認錯，畢竟罰款沒有剝奪選秀權甚至轉隊禁令，錢可以解決的事情都是小事情。
不過，半年後的今天，Magic Johnson 又被聯盟罰款了！
Magic Johnson 接受 ESPN 記者 Nick Friedell 採訪時，對公鹿的「希臘怪物」Giannis Antetokounmpo 有一番讚揚：
"Oh yeah," Johnson told ESPN recently. "With his ball-handling skills and his passing ability. He plays above the rim I never could do that. But in his understanding of the game, his basketball IQ, his creativity of shots for his teammates. That's where we [have the] same thing. Can bring it down, make a pass, make a play. I'm just happy he's starting in the All-Star game because he deserves that. And he's going to be like an MVP, a champion, this dude he's going to put Milwaukee on the map. And I think he's going to bring them a championship one day."
「喔，是的，他處理球的技術和傳球能力都很不錯，他終結籃框的方式我甚至都做不到。但在球賽的理解、球商、為隊友創造投射的能力上我們是相同的。他可以慢下來打陣地戰，可以傳球，可以完成戰術，很高興他在 All-Star game 上先發登場，他應得的。他將會是 MVP，得到冠軍，讓大家知道密爾瓦基，我認為未來有一天他將會帶給那裡的人一個冠軍。」
"He's special," Johnson said. "A man that can handle the basketball like he can and be a great -- he's probably the greatest athlete we have in the league today. And then his understanding, his basketball IQ is off the chart. He not only can score for himself, but also he can pass that basketball like a point guard. So when you think about all the skills that he has, block shots, rebound, can put the ball on the floor, can score, can assist, can make the pass. We've never had anybody in the league like him. And also too, he's like the number one."
